SPECIFIC CLARIFYING AGENT FOR QUALITY WHITE WINES.

1 - CHARACTERISTICS :

After fining ICHTYOCOLLE gives perfect clarity even on wines made from botrytized grapes.

ICHTYOCOLLE is very efficient in precipitating active carbon or ferrocyanide.

2 - DIRECTION FOR USE :

Quantity 1.5 to 3 g/hl

Pour 700 g of citric acid in 100 litres of cold water to obtain a solution with an acid pH, then sprinkle 1 kg of ICHTYOCOLLE and leave it for 2 or 3 hours to swell. Stir slowly, ICHTYOCOLLE is ready for use. 150 to 300 millilitres of this solution will be used per 100 litres of wines.

The necessary volume of solution is vigourously mixed with 4 to 5 times its volume in white wine. In a second stage, this new solution is slowly introduced into the wine while briskly mixed to obtain a good homogenization.

After 72 hours the wine can be filtered. In case of racking 8 to 10 days are necessary for sedimentation, depending on the size and the volume of the tank.

REMARK :

The use of SILIGEL will reduce the sedimentation time as well as the volume of the lees.
