SILICON DIOXIDE IN COLLOIDAL SOLUTION FORM

  1. CHARACTERISTICS

SILIGEL is a product specifically prepared for oenological purposes at a concentration of 30%.

SILIGEL can be used in combination with all organic fining agents like gelatine, isinglass,etc.

The size of the molecules has been selected to have the biggest specific area combined with the biggest size, to ensure optimum result.

The advantages of SILIGEL are:

  • Improved and quicker flocculation
  • Improved filtration
  • Smaller volumes of lees
  • No over-finings
  • Quick and complete elimination of potassium ferrocyanide

The best results with SILIGEL will be obtained when its addition is followed by the incorporation to the wine of a product containing long proteinic molecules like GECOLL SUPRA 95.

  1. DIRECTION FOR USE:

SILIGEL must be introduced into the wine before proteinic fining agents. To complete the effect of SILIGEL, it can be advisable to use as well as BENTONITE.

INTRODUCTION INTO THE WINE

The average dose is 0.25 millilitres of SILIGEL per litre of wine.

For the treatment of young wines, or wines coming from botrytized grapes the average dose can be increased by 50%.

REMARK:

SILIGEL must be stored at ambient temperature DO NOT refrigerate.
