POLYCLAR ULTRA K-100 Polyclar Ultra K-100 is a new combined wine stabilizer and clarifier using a fine grade of highly absorbent Polyclar (PVPP) insoluble casein and silica minerals. Polyclar Ultra K-100 is designed to give the winemaker a cost-effective treatment for both wine stabilization and clarification. It can be used as a preventative or remedial treatment. Polyclar ( PVPP ) is already widely used by winemakers to improve colour and flavour stability. It is highly specific in removing harmful reactive polyphenois from wine. Polyclar Ultra K-100 further removes proteinaceous and fatty components that can cause colloidal instability and have a negative impact on wine brightness and transparency.

Methods of use Polyclar Ultra K-100 can be added either to the must or to the wineafter clarification. Options after clarification include addition during or after tartaric stabilization or prior to pre-bottling filtration. Polyclar Ultra K-100 is made up as a 5 - 10% slurry in wine or water which is added either to the wine in the tank or en-route to filter. Added to tank, a contact time of 1 - 10 days is recommended to facilitate settling and subsequent removal by racking and / or filtration. Mixing should be sufficient to ensure homogeneity. Stirring and / or recirculation will help to generate homogenous dispersion. If Polyclar Ultra K-100 slurry is added during the filtration process, it must be prepared 1 hour before use. A diatomaceous earth filter should be used. A contact time of >5 minutes is recommended for maximum benefit. ( Polyclar Ultra K-100 is very efficient with even shorter contact times )
